New York City Annual Boiler Inspection

If you own a commercial, mixed use, or six (6) family or greater building containing a boiler, regardless of BTU, then you are required to file an annual boiler inspection with the Department of Buildings. You are required to file annually with the Department of Buildings if your property has a boiler operating 350,000 Btu or above, regardless of building use or occupancy.

A New York City Annual Boiler Inspection must be performed by a qualified licensed professional and a report submitted along with an annual fee to the New York City Boiler Division by the yearly deadline.

Failure to file an annual inspection report (including an Affirmation of Correction* if defects are found) within the required 45 days will result in a $50.00 monthly late filing penalty per boiler.  Failure to file an annual inspection report will result in a full penalty of $1,000.00 per boiler.
